The Train

The next few days were a welcome break for trecking all over two large cities. We had a Russian girl from Irkustk sharing our cabin, she spoke a little English but didn't realy want to interact.

Mostly lazed around the cabin reading books and playing cards. There were quite a few other travellors on the train so friends were made over a few beers and card games.

The train stopped along the way and there was often time to jump off and buy food and drinks from vendors at the stations. This all tasted good but I am sure one of these has given several of us bad stomachs, which I am still suffering from!

Although I had read that the toilets are locked before during and after these stops i hadn't anticipated that this could last over an hour. I seemed to time it just wrong on every occasion I decided to pay a visit.

Only ate at the resturant car once, funny experience, food would come out completely randomly, the couple I sat next to had waited an hour for their food but mine came out almost instantly.

Vendors were also on the train selling a variety of different things, including strangley fur hats and coats in the middle of summer.

Suprisingly the time went very quickly and before we knew it we were pulling into Irkustk in Siberia.
